Why are you in this industry/occupation?

I am a believer of solving the way people and organisations collaborate more effectively with the uptake and consumerisation of Digital technologies in industry sectors that span to:

  • Telecommunications
  • Banking and Finance
  • Health
  • Sports Media
  • Education
  • Resources
  • Utilities.

My passion is being able to create a product and service that not only provides the organisation ROI but also enables a better customer experience in their day to day lives by being able to simplify repetitive processes and being able to give them back more time to devote to other things that they are passionate in their professional and personal lives.

What are the benefits?

The key benefits are being able to make a difference to women in a field where Digital technology is still male dominated. I lead my team and organisations I work for by example.

I have been lucky that my industry mentors have provided me with the opportunity of a highly earned income, work flexibility and being able to explore new ideas which emerge in my field.

What are the drawbacks?

Predominantly encountered in some organisations where engineering, technology and banking is still heavily dominated by male executives, where when speaking your voice of opinion in a boardroom setting you still have to go through rigorous review before the final sign off of an idea, project, proposal or funding for continuous improvement within a programme I am running in excess of $50 mil to $100 mill p.a. spend.

Why do you encourage other women and girls to consider this industry/occupation?

Believe in what you are passionate about. Don’t let anything hold you back.
If you have an idea in the Digital technology that you think will help revolutionalise a problem then throw all your energy towards and lead by example and those who believe in you will follow and provide support and open doors to bigger and better adventures.
